End-of-Day Maintenance on the ROQ Hybrid: A Simple Routine to Maximize Print Head Life

Keep Your Print Heads Healthy & Your Prints Looking Sharp

This quick routine helps keep your print heads protected overnight, your capping station clean, and your print quality consistent day after day.

Step 1: Remove the Capping Tray

  • Carefully pull the capping tray out of the Hybrid. Be mindful—it’s full of ink and can get messy.
  • We like using plastic bins from Amazon to catch any drips and avoid spills.

Step 2: Clean the Capping Station

  • Take the tray to your washout booth.
  • Use a regular water hose on low pressure—this is key! High pressure could damage the gasket seals.
  • Cold or warm water is fine. Just make sure you rinse every bit of ink out, especially from the divots in the cap head.

Step 3: Dry It Out

You’ve got two options here depending on when you clean:

  • Morning maintenance? Let it air dry upside down on old t-shirts.
  • End of day? Use low-pressure air to blow the water out of the cavities.

Be careful not to blast the gaskets. They’re what maintain moisture overnight and protect your print heads.

Step 4: Reinstall the Capping Tray

  • Set the capping tray back in place.
  • Make sure you hit all four magnetic contact points.
  • Do a quick feel test to make sure everything is lined up and seated properly.

Step 5: Refill with Cleaning Solution

You’ve got options here too, but we like keeping it simple:

  • Grab a simple squeeze bottle off Amazon.
  • Fill it with print head cleaning solution and pour it gently into each cap.
  • You want just enough solution to make a good seal—too much and surface tension can break that seal.

Step 6: Check the Gaskets

  • Use your first two fingers to glide across the rubber gaskets.
  • You’re looking to wipe away any excess fluid and check for tears, rips, or misalignment.
  • A solid, even gasket = a tight overnight seal that keeps your nozzles safe.

Final Step: Put the Hybrid in Standby

This part’s easy—and super important.

  • Just hit the Standby button on the control panel.
  • The print head will move into position and automatically cap itself over the cleaned and filled capping station.

Your ROQ Hybrid is now ready to rest overnight, protected and prepped for another day of flawless printing.
